Lagos – Nigeria, 23rd May 2016 – Africa’s First Women WebTV Network, AWLO TV, today announced that they have entered into an agreement to co-develop and promote her flagship campaign, #SHEVOICES, a network of 500,000 women from varied backgrounds, speaking out and inspiring each other.
AWLO TV, will partner with WFM 91.7, Nigeria and arguably Africa’s first ever radio station for the Woman and family, to move expand the reach of the campaign and get more women, actively involved and give them more opportunities to express themselves and be heard.
With this partnership, new features will be added to the campaign, #SHEVOICES will be given opportunities to engage more with each other and even do business, meet-and-greets and other social events will be put together, and many more.
“73% will contribute if women are more involved in the presentation of programmes. Particularly women from different backgrounds to better represent the variety of Women’s experiences, perspectives and interests” said WFM, speaking about the involvement of women in radio broadcasts.
“Let’s give women an opportunity to speak out, let’s tell them that: ‘Do you have something to say? Do you want to meet other accomplished women? Here’s that place to say it, here’s that place to meet them,” said Ekemini Akpakpan, the General Manager, AWLO TV. “We’ll have something like a hall of fame for women, and more”.
The #SHEVOICES campaign that started in January 2016 with Kamdora, Nigeria’s biggest fashion and lifestyle blog as the only partner has had Fade Ogunro, Vanessa Mdee, Lola Oj, Yvonne Jegede, Emem Isong, Kehinde Smith, Lilian Esoro and other notable people in participation. The African Women in Leadership Organisation has hosted some significant #SHEVOICES such as Yvonne Jegede, Buchi Akpati and others as Special Guests in events like the Birthday symposium on honour of Senator Ita Giwa.
#SHEVOICES campaign by AWLO TV, is about heralding the voice of Women. It is projecting, celebrating and networking 500,000 women (#SHEVOICES). It seeks to reach out to women to make their voice count through, partaking in the campaign, meeting other women, and making impact. The #SHEVOICES campaign has a special category, dedicated to women who are deemed to personify the essence of the campaign. They are called, “#SHEVOICES INSPIRATION”.
